Lifestyle & Attractions

Located directly north of Downtown Columbus, Clintonville is a charming neighborhood within the city. The neighborhood originally developed as the center point of Clinton Township, and eventually became a place for summer homes for residents of downtown Columbus and professors from The Ohio State University. Eventually, the surrounding farmland was converted into housing developments, and today Clintonville is a lively residential community with a number of attractions. Clintonville is highly accessible, as I-71 runs alongside the entire eastern border of the neighborhood.

Clintonville is the former home to Columbus’ first zoo, which opened and closed in 1905, and the Olentangy Park amusement park. There is plenty of green space in Clintonville, including Whetstone Park (which hosts the popular Park of Roses), Kenney Park, and three ravine parks located north of Ohio State. Residents may easily access the Olentangy River, which winds along the western border of Clintonville. There is a wide selection of businesses, restaurants and shops at Graceland Shopping Center, in addition to High Street, which bisects the neighborhood north-to-south, and Indianola Avenue along the eastern edge of Clintonville. Clintonville is located just minutes from The Ohio State University, so residents may visit the campus for sports games, performances and other events.
